yes, I know what Dan did. gets credit for 5 years, and then made a sweetheart deal to pad his wallet while never growing and obliterating any progress he made
I've never said he's a bad coach. he ran his course by 2017 or 2018.
never inspired, never led, never became LB, 17 years wasted only to end up the losingest coach in Beach history
I've said hi to CDM to twice; , nice guy, as everyone points out, deadpan humor, one time I was weary a VB shirt when we chatted. wish him good health, and he took advantage of what he could take advantage of. Previous Message
Been waiting for this one. Happy you googled “Dan Monsons kids” and flipped a coin and decided you would pick Maddox as your choice to go after. I back up a coach that never did anything to ruin the reputation of Long Beach basketball and you think I’m his son. Got hired at the beach while the team was on probation after the last coach cheated and brought back a solid reputation to the program. You probably didn’t know that.
A fan has an opinion and stands on business (cuz I’m not wrong) and you think I’m a Monson kid 😂. I went to high school with the Monson kids. Don’t know the family at a deep level but when I would wear my LB gear and say hi to them at school they would always say hi back (not going to name which kid but you can keep guessing you seem to enjoy doing that)
I would go to games with my grandparents (LBSU alumni’s) and they would tell me stories about past coaches and how Monson is a great coach for the school. You can disagree with that all you want but the truth of the matter is he came in and left it better than how he found it. At least he won championships. You don’t think about what he won only what he didn’t do.
Can’t tell me it’s not a disappointment watching every Thursday and Saturday and watching this team find different ways to lose ballgames. Down three shooting a contested fadeaway from 15 feet after running the clock down is a high IQ play that I simply couldn’t stop thinking about. And I’ll give Acker some slack, first year guy I’m sure it’s a hard adjustment, but his assistants have to help the guy too and make sure shit like that doesn’t happen. This team looks ill-prepared week after week. Can’t rely on a 30 point askew or wainwright game every game.
But hey at least they got the two free throws before the post game presser that you put on this board. Bad teams ALWAYS find ways to lose. Simply waiting to see a bright light at the end of the tunnel (next November when next year starts) Previous Message
He knows more than you'll ever forget.
thanks for the update Maddox!
and yes, he needs some introspection on the offense scheme.
trying to run SDSU offense may work with those athletes and guys that could all bench press 300 lbs., not this group.
adapt or die! Previous Message
Acker don’t know ball jit Previous Message
What are you guys talking about? I loved watching our boys dribble around for 25 seconds, chuck up a last-second shot and pray it goes in every possession. That is, excluding the 20 possessions were turned the ball over.
Unbelievably ill-prepared to win these games. Previous Message
I don't know that Ty Johnson would be better.
Acker does have height for muscle.
it's simple, guys have to space, move and pass, we can't swing the ball at all.
back-doors are open all day long, lol,
and tonight, Askew started picking up his dribble, Austin gets the ball way too much too far out. I can't stand this hand off offense at all Previous Message
Askew is a nice player but he doesn't fit this type of offense. He's just not quick enough to penetrate and make an easy bucket or dish off. TY Johnson of UCD would be a better fit. He's quick and double team proof. Previous Message
He's going down in flames. Just awful scheme. Every team now knows just double Askew. Too easy.
