have to remember, more teams just make the odds of a auto-bid for NCAA bids worse
there really is no upside, I get Cal Baptist has a nice facility, but who gives a crap, that doesn't help Long Beach. Cal Baptist won't bring any extra money with them.
as it is, adding Bakersfield was a colossal stupid add as well - total political gift from the CSUs to the Bake Pres.
same for WCC, what does Cal Baptist add, but another team? granted they are reeling with Zags & BYU leaving.
The Big West will just stay at 10, no reason and probably not any good fit, unless San Jose State or Sac State becomes an option, or Hawaii comes asking back again, which I would not rule out within 4 to 6 years, since the entire Pac-X & Mountain West thing isn't sorted out yet. Frankly, the Big West could lose a couple teams (like UCR or Bake) and it wouldn't hurt anything aside from making non-conf schedulig a bit tougher
I do think the BWCT in Vegas tourney is done. Hawaii has the biggest support for that tourney, and if it's not subsidized (which I suspect it is in part by Hawaii sponsors) it's probably gonna come back to SoCal and hold it in Big West gyms like VB does. I love that Henderson arena itself, but it's a ghost town, 20% full

Good...UH will be in the Big West for 25-26. Not much discussion (publicly) about whether UH will be replaced with another full member or whether we're staying at 10. Kind of surprised the WCC has not made a move to add Cal Baptist, after losing Grand Canyon. Maybe the Big West should pursue them to get back to 11... Previous Message
the affiliate sports will continue in the Big West, since next year, Hawaii will still be in the Big West, they will not be affiliate's next year
Hawaii WVB can't be thrilled, they are going to a conference that is losing 5 of their upper tier best teams, Colorado State,Utah State, Boise, Fresno, San Diego State were five of the 6 MWCT teams this year, the only one remaining is SJSU, the MWC WVB is being gutted, a lot like the MWC football has been.
I guess for MBB, it's a definite move up for Hawaii, aside from that?? not really. other than Football and MBB, it makes zero sense, but then it's all about football and MBB Previous Message

Two thoughts/questions.
Doesn't the Big West have a limit on the number of affiliate sports from one school? Thought it was 3. It appears more than 3 UH sports will be part of the Big West.
The press release states these sports will be joining the Big West for the 26-27 season. I believe UH is moving to the Mountain West for the 25-26 season. So, what are those UH affiliate sports going to do for one season?
