yep, not sure why the rule was changed, unless it's been that way all along.
why reward a bad shot? Previous Message
The refs decide what is a shot attempt and what isn't? Previous Message
I don't think so. one rule says you can shoot a 2nd shot, the other rule says if you don't get that 2nd shot off in time, it won't count. seems consistent to me.
not sure though why or when it changed to allow airballs. didn't think it was like that in the past
also, I don't think the guy even thought he was fouled, he was like, ok, I get a FT too!
"Yes, a player can follow on a second shot in basketball if they recover their own air ball. An air ball is an unblocked shot that misses the basket, rim, and backboard. When a player recovers their own air ball, it's treated the same as grabbing an offensive rebound that hit the rim. The player isn't committing a violation because their control of the ball ended after they released their initial shot"

If that's the new rule, it's inconsistent with the shot clock resetting rule concerning airballs... Previous Message
I didn't even think it was a foul, and if so, on the first shot, just unfortunate.
the guy is hard to defend, in hindsight he should have been picked up a tag bit earlier
and the announcer stated even if you don't draw iron, that now you can follow up with another shot, so long as the first one was an actual shot attempt which it was. I didn't realize that was the rule now. Previous Message
Didn't watch the game live, only saw a clip of that last sequence. From what I saw, Cluff received the interior pass, shot an air ball, then moved his feet and caught the ball in the air and sank the shot. I think that's technically traveling. If Cluff's first shot had hit the backboard or rim, no issue, but it didn't look like it. What he did was passing to himself, which is traveling. Previous Message
bit of a freak play at the end, not sure what guys could do on that last shot, don't want to give them a 3,
battled like heck, and Askew and Wainright made a ton of clutch shots to show some offensive hope
dang, would have been a really nice win, SDSU was picked 2nd in the Summit league, granted 5 new starters as well
don't think we can always shoot the 3 like that - will see if can construct something for our bigs, need something inside
dang Previous Message
some difficult ones
the good thing players are SET when taking them, even if Wainright took one that was a bit too long.
can't wait to see if a big can at least get a putback Previous Message
team has grinded back well. our D wears a bit on them.
seemed like close to SDSU blowing up their lead, and got stops around the 10 minute mark.
for little inside moves with our bigs, doing well. still got find a way to get some easier inside buckets.
