1) Nice Hype before season
2) Pick up some really good wins over solid or ranked teams in non-conference.
3) Some star performances (Lena Silano!)
and then....
4) Inexplicable losses in conference as conference season wears on, especially a habit of losing leads late in games.
This year it was the Davis finish basically started the late season disaster. Up late, then gave up 2 goals in like 2 minutes. The season never recovered from that.
Scoring ONE goal in last 4 games alone. YIkes! that's monumentally bad.
MI has had a lot of very good moments, and while not the top Beach coach, was in that upper tier. This season is really hard to take. Just a bit sad to see.

Big West Preseason #1 pick finishes 8th in conference and misses the BW tournament. The prior 4 seasons we finished 4th (2023), 4th (2022), 4th (2021) and 7th (2019). Coach MI has been at LBSU a long time. Most of his success was in his early years, including a final 8 run in the NCAA's. However, for the last 5 years, I'm starting to get some CDM vibes from the soccer program. Soccer and women's volleyball are our marquee fall sports, so we need to compete for BW titles and NCAA bids to generate interest. I don't know what the status of Coach MI's contract is but he definitely needs to pick it up.
