Other than Karach and Giambi, the others haven't passed well this year, and stunk it up big time last night.
we'll see if they've turned a corner. Wash St didn't serve as hard as Wash, still passed great tonight other than a couple of sequences where it was teetering

Spot on. Glenn has been great but she can't carry the entire load all season. We have seen this movie before and it was a flop. Tykler tried it with Morgan Chacon and Joy with Kash Williams. Even BG with Nele Barber who used to take 50 plus swings every night. Fortunately Lomigora has chipped in with some kills.

it's not the loss, some good things, they have some major player talent. it's just the way they lost. This is 5th week of instruction, and they got served into oblivion last night.
sets 2-4 were abominable, simply terrible receiving
there's no excuse for Long Beach volleyball to be that bad receiving serves. Davis is going to KILL this team the way they serve hard liners and put players in the line of sight to disguise the serve.
the team is not getting good swings, only Lomgoria and Glenn take good solid swings, Karach does, but she still has trouble hitting through blocks, at least she passes well
Huus was a great passer, whatever knowledge transfer is being attempting is not working.

They have to be able to ATTACK and go after those serves and not 'guess' or not be timid and go get the dang ball.
Meyer was so much in dis-array and it wore on her as the match went on, could get no rhythm, leading to more of dunks and dinks and silly stuff.
they try to grind, but grinding is hard when the team rarely gets solid swings over and over and over, and Meyer's later attempts to score were anticipated and those later attempts looked 'weak'
hopefully they got up at 6 today and tomm and everyday and were practicing and getting a mentality to not be shrinking violets when a serve comes their way.
these two matches, all the 'niceness' and 'joy' is ok, but these women need to get mean, and determined to not accept such atrocious receiving.
I do not understand why one player is not in there more in the back row more. maybe she cannot receive also, but she sure as heck is solid otherwise, won't know until they try it.

this team could really lose to Fullerton or Riverside the way they throw away points on shanks in bunchens. it really was unacceptable for Beach VB.
