We need in addition to better passing some height on the pins. Hopefully Harris or Maxwell can develop quickly enough to take over one of the OH spots. I don't believe any of our are 2025 pins or over 6'1. Hopefully Natalie or whoever the next coach is will have to hit the portal for some height as well as a MB as Bacon will be gone.
lol, I read a comment about running a fast offense.
the only fast offense we could run right now is to pass teh ball over the net.
you have to be able to get decent first touches to run a fast offense. until this team can receive serve, it doesn't matter whether they run a slow or fast offense.
0.911 receiving % ain't getting it done, you have to receive at 0.94 to be a top 25/50 team, we beat Texas last year cause they could not pass the ball in that match - credit our serving.
Huus was nails as an OH passing, hopefully he can get these women to pass nails
Player of the match for me was Madi Collins. Her stat line does not indicated any impact but her serve had NW out of system all night and LBSU scored a bunch of points when she was on the line.
team just went in to a free fall in sets 3 & 4, passing went south really bad.
behind 6-3 in 5th set
Jaida Harris played first major role of the year, coming in the 5th set, 3 big time kills as the team found composure, or at least cause Northwestern to loser theirs again
just some unusual things. Bacon not a single block
Glenn struggled at times in receive, as well as Velucci had some real struggles in NW runs in 3rd and 4th
have to credit Regean for making some changes. there was one change I thought she should have made earlier.
still lots of work with this team, especially in the passing department. next 3 games are all winnable, although Arizona State will be a big challenge and a great measuring stick.
can't have those stretches of receivers passively letting the ball play them on serves that really are not all that hard
hopefully can keep grinding well
