I think they need Maxwell to learn fast as an all-around, and then Livi, Karach, O-Reilly, Harris, JOrdan as another all-around.
they've got train well on floor defense. we shall see
Where is Livi? Is she injured?
Northwestern has a very new coach with a really depleted roster following a drawn out campus scandal. Not sure it is an indicator if much. Doubtful that improvement will come quickly anyway. This seems like a team that will have to gel during conference play and hope for a strong finish at the end of the season.
I watched some of the replay, it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be
not having Agi is an understatment. Karach is not a great back-row defender, Chacon got aced a couple more times.
the team needs to pass/receive #1, and at least make the OH situation somewhat manageable.
We've got two frosh in the line-up, they better grow up fast, and that's where the training comes in, hard to judge not seeing that.
just looked too many times with backrow players letting the ball play them, instead of 'attacking' the ball on receive, gotta go after it
this week vs. Northwestern will be telling what they learn between now and then.
Northwestern would probably be an upper tier Big West team.
Another beat down losing to Oregon 18-17-16
This tough schedule may have been a serious misjudgment, but I’m more concerned with whether the head coach can actually coach and train at this level.
the match-up vs. Oregon will be an interesting test, after the beat down by Pitt
Pitt might be the best early season opponent Beach has faced in the last decade with 5 returning All Americans
still, I guess welcome to D1 VB for Maxwell, Velucci and Harris - if nothing else they got to see how a juggernaut plays
how well Maxwell and Velucci come along will determine thi steam's ceiling. Beach needs passing and that 2nd OH
gonna have to cut down on errors of all types.
