$38 for upper level
I bought 45 minutes before the game after parking.
almost went ahead and paid $70 on Saturday, but so many were available figured it really wasn't that close to a sell out. those $200+ were ridiculous.
they were obviously trying to scalp. I have no idea how they stay in business, aside from getting those $150-$300 tickets to sell at the expense of a lot of unsold tickets.
even though they were high, there were so many available it didn't seem right.
I loved the days of scalpers at events, probably could have got 5th row for $20 on this one. and could have just found an empty seat much lower at the game. I'd say it was at least 1000/1500 short of a real sell-out.
probably at least a 100 Beach fans scattered about.
just weird the eruptions when James touched the ball or made a play.
5000 USC fans
4000 Brony/Celeb Fans
100 Beach fans!!!
Good you attended. How much were your tickets.? I wanted to attend but the tix that were $40 last year were $250.
has to rank up with one of the most exciting wins ever at
undecided about going, but we went anyway, just the idea this was one of those winnable, maybe improbable, but winnable games - there is some big-time talent on this team
so many jacked up tickets, but also so many, sure enough they kept coming down.
right up there with that beat down by the fab four of SB up in Goleta their senior year, this one was different, that was a slow then roller coaster steamroll of SB. this was 20 minutes of hanging on by a thread, and wondering if it would be time to exit by the 8 minute mark, lol
instead high fives for all the Beach there that got witness a dismantling of a top 50 team in front of that obnoxious school and obnoxious fight song and cheer/dancers vying for future pole dancingn gigs.
that start, just horrific defense on pick n rolls, and at first Silva, then Messiah were like the moment was just too much.
thanks to AJ & Jones who scored, even LT, not much but enough buckets to keep somewhat close despite it felt like a blowout or on the edge of one. not just Turnovers, really weak one, & USC with their 7 footer, and all-star wings seemed it would be overmatched.
now, been to 3 USC-Beach MBB games in my life, and Beach has WON each and every one, kind of a crazy thing
2nd half, just kept hanging in, it was as if USC would go on a run that they never did. Beach really are athletically fast, and we do get in our own way. poor block outs, but guys were going after the ball
Silva, after a forgettable 1st half, did score a couple and a steal. Messiah didn't jack up and settled down to a role, instead got bless Messiah he took it upon himself to just defend and did a good job.
& then Tsohonis, man what can one say. MONEY! yeah he did have his usual poor shots, but a great assist, and the shot that IMO really was the key, that 30 foot 3, from in front of LeBron's lap, that shot stunned the crowd and was a huge dagger before the end of game daggers. the crowd just when 'huh', wtf, sorry Used Trojans!
even with some forgettable possessions when up, like run something, lol, we managed to force USC to miss FTs.
AT is THE CLOSER, he was getting shoved like crazy on FTs by their 7 fter and Morgan, blatant crap, but since AT is no flopper the refs don't call that.
on those last USC possessions I knew we were going to win, cause Morgan can't do crap on offense, and guys defended 3s, and knew that when they drove, At was gonna come and fly swat, and he was up in the rafters on that last block, USC had zero chance
LT fouls out? no problem, circa back to 2022, and AT playing the big with a FAST ATHLETIC WINGY defense, we're gonna see that more now
have to credit the refs, they made the right calls both ways, and didn't succumb to the USC limelight.
what a game
all the guys were big time, but Tsohonis ice, and AT is such a warrior, his athleticsm PLUS determination playing the 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 and the ground he covers is indescribable.
great great win, with LeBron and Jr. serving as just props for a Long Beach W. what a team!
