the top teams in the conference not receiving NCAA bids are invited to the NIVC.
both Cal Poly and Beach declined, they just essentially had their post season tournament.
there is no Pac-12 team tournament, nor LMU nor San Diego from the WCC. UOP is the only California team. gives a pretty good idea of what value all the schools (and players) see in the tournament.
Wondering if the NIVC is a pay in tournament? By merit, the Beach would have been an easy invite.
2024: Karich returns hopefully fully recovered. Livvy looked very promising in her short stint late in the year. Same goes for Ella at MB. From his past posts, Dansk thought highly of Grace prior to her injury.
Would think an MB out of the portal, some attention to the back row, and a back row attack (Natalie and Elise) might be items to be addressed in the off season?
no NIVC, not sure what the value is, unless the players really want to do that.
Glenn needs a break for Sand VB
no surprise. the Northridge loss, and needed to beat UCSB one more time to have a shot, that might have been enough, even then the committee went almost chalk on RPI/KPI, which means Tyler needs to put some time/thought into the schedule, which isn't necessarily easy.
shoulda, woulda, hope they all come back, and see if there is a potential portal addition.
UCSB received an at-large at Stanford, playing Houston. Hawaii is at Oregon, playing Iowa State.
NIVC is possible, if they want it. But, Cal Poly is an option also.
