It's now or never for this season. start fresh. enough is enough. this is ridiculous. this is the last rant about it, because if Smitheran doesn't pull the plug tommorrow, then there's no better time.

the program has become one big rationalization after another.

1) We aren't good, anybody watching would know that. no, it wasn't Monson setting some 'trap' in a master plan to catch MSU off guard, lol. He tried to start off in a gimmick line-up (Silva AND Messiah?) today.

2) Stop rationalizing with the Beach is 'not bad'. crap, the expectation was to be a top 100 team, we went 3-3 vs. shitty teams in NOvember. Been getting schooled for many games from teh perimeter

3) Stop rationalizing that 'it's all about the BWCT', because it's about every game. returning 2 starters from a title team,, and almost the entire team, there's no excuse for a 4-4 November, expectation was 6-2, maybe 5-3 at worst, and not just the record, the team doesn't look any better than last year

4) Stop rationalizing about 'needing to gel'. Portland had more new players. relative to every opponent, they 'need to gel' as well. It's as if that rationalization ignores that Beach is the only team that needs time to gel. A good coach, check that, a good TEACHER, gets results repeatedly, not haphazardly.

5) Stop rationalizing about 'we'll be ok come BWCT'. This was a year to actually make a dent with a resume. Parlayed a marquee win finally with a big fat thud. Those rationalizers basically dismiss those that want to see good basketball, and think some team can 'turn it on' as time goes by. that's BS. The team isn't competing right to be in the BWCT. they are competing to be a top 2 seed, to actually put themself in position to WIN the BWCT. 5th seed or below is basically 'see you later' come BWCT time.

6) Stop with the rationalization of 'wait to April'. For what, so the players disband and move on, 2-3 months go on, and the xfer portal period is lost. Monson will NOT be extended, so make the decision now to give Scholl a shot. He might flunk, Monson flunked November, a D+ or C- at best. He flunked last year, he's flunked for half of the last decade, yet the school keeps moving him along in grade and doesn't make waves

7) There's no energy to the program. Stop rationalizing that there's actually anything to damper at this point. No D1 home game in November, and then 48 hours of buzz followed by 1 week of total buzzkill, ending in .....4 minutes of bliss today!!! lol

8) Stop the rationalization of making a worse choice. Did I miss something, by cutting bait now,
we'll hire Reggie Theus? Have no idea if Scholl can game coach, he can't do worse than 'wait until the last possible moment' Monson to try to pull rabbits out of a hat. BTW, we pulled 1 out 3 rabbits out of the hat this week, lol

9) Stop, STop, Stop. This is the definitiion of insanity

10) Stop with the rationalization that Beach can't afford 100k right now to make a bump for coaches. In April, they'll spend $50k or more on a search firm anyway. Give Scholl a shot. He's been loyal, he'll be gone after Monson is not extended, so give the guy a chance now. What have we got to lose? Only this weird unsupported by history notion that Monson will 'teach up' this team. and yes, I do think this team with MOnson COULD win a Big West title, but so what. he's a haggard has-been and doesn't deserve a chance. We need a coach that will bust their but, promote the team, and COMMUNICATE a vision that is clear and understandable.


there, no more for this year. On Monday, it's the opportunity that will not present itself at a better time this year. If not, the AD has decided to do what most ADs do....punt the decision for xyz reasons to a later data. There is ZERO downside, ZERO, to telling Monson to not show up anymore. IF he's there next Saturday in his deshelveled state, there will be some nice hope that we'll have a good home game. I think we'll thrash Sac State, but so what. They Should thrash Sac State. Doing so won't mean.
