probably a tempting line for bettors to take the points given the first two games.
I just think this is will be a difficult game. the lack of fouls for us was an aberration so far, will see if we can avoid that - having Polynice back is nice at least to have some more fouls for our bigs and some options
still waiting to see if we will play a 'speed' small full court pressing lineup of Messiah, AT as the big, Jones, Tsohonis, and AJ at least for a few minutes, simply to use switching man to man full court.
that doesn't happen often
I am seeing you can get 7 points and Illinois State.
Massey has it as 3 point favorites
75-72, meaning they do expect Ill State to slow it down and pound away
by now Ill State is prepping for a 1-3-1 press and controlling the press.
will see how we do in a more half-court type of game
they have a lot of upperclassmen, play 10 deep, definite height, and 4 guys with 6 or move rebounds a game
this is probably going to be a bit like Portland. Really have to rebound well, which so far hasn't been a forte.
likely not the same athletic ability as Mich/SDSU, but they should play more physical than Michigan.
going to be a tough different type of opponent.
I just want this team to 100% forget the Mich win and to focus on the upcoming team. It won't mean anything if the Beach loses their next game.
one big win takes us from middle of the pack to the top
KP rankings this morning
90 - Long Beach State
152 - Hofstra
158 - Wright State
162 - Iona
179 - Louisiana
195 - Illinois State
272 - High Point
304 - Buffalo
first round brunch game vs. Illinois State (all those that know where that is, raise your hands!, pretty sure it's easy to figure out what city Long Beach State is in). The acceptance rate to get in to Ill State is 92%, crap, even Bake is harder to get in to at 85%.
take on winner of Iona & Louisiana
would be great to meet Wright State in the finals, a little payback for a thrashing they gave Beach a few years ago
