Beach has played the toughest competition of all the top BIg West teams in conference
#1 in Service aces
#1 in giving up fewest Service aces
cut down service errors from the UCSD game, while still serving tough vs. Hawaii
Hoff serves a short serve and a long serve, same for Agi
a number of players have perfected a hard float cross court, and this weekend Chacon & Lopez served that hard down the line vs. always cross court.
the serves are really stretching opponents, it's been so hard, you can see some opponents are
hitting some serves headed out.
rarely hitting right at the back middle, and exposing passing on opponents
& then Glenn is hitting a tough jump serve left to right, a change-up softer overspin and then just rips some, cut down from last year where she was sailing a lot of those long.
the receiving last night was very good, overpasses cut down quite a bit from earlier in non-conf.
every now and then we struggle a bit when opponents soft serve, but overall not.

Great win last night. Great to see Karich come alive in that last set. Hoping this was a breakout match for her. But, once again, it's the outstanding defense that won the match for them. Chacon, Hoff, and Giambi are playing great out there. And the block was solid, forcing Hawaii to hit around it to the defense, and solid with soft blocks.

yes a great win -- did not start out to well but the women turned it around and won the 1st set -- yep blew a big lead in the 3rd but some great defense and kennedy coming in was just what we needed --- yes a great crowd with the student section almost full and a good turn out for the girls from the island as usual -- lets keep it going--- GO BEACH -- a 49er forever ------ Previous Message
a sweep
while Tyler mentions the BWCT, this is a HUGE win for Beach, makes an at-large possible, and big win for conference
big time kudos for Abby Karach, she'd been struggling a ton, and had a MASSIVE kill at 20-19 on a bump set nailing it just inside the block
hopefully takes this and builds on with confidence
what a team, Meyer set a great 3rd set, mixed quick sets with some nice balls that were good for Karach to kill
to blow a massive lead, and still come back is fantastic.
now see how the team handles a schedule that will have all sub 100 or worse teams, and hopefully play with the same grind and some swagger.
what a win!
