& defeat old teammate Starr Williams 3-1,Williams actually came on strong 3rd and 4th sets when NMSU was giving us huge problems. they started handling our serves better, and 3 straight aces (out of nowhere) for NMSU changed the match to a nail biter

given Beach played no 5 setters in non-conference, I guess a long extended 4 set is the next best thing, and prevailing at that

Meyer was awesome sets 1-2, and then things went south.

Kennedy didn't play, not sure what that was about, she was on the sidelines, still Emma Lomgoria continued strong play, especially those first two sets

the glaring lid on the ceiling of this team is our OHs, simply way too many errors and it's as if each OH has a different issue with the errors they make

good to see Glenn have two solid outings, she and Agi at least look confident, even if they do pile up errors.

to me Karach lacks confidence, the swing looks great, I can't believe in practice does she paints a border 18" outside the outline cause she routinely hits way too many 18" too long, especially her and Agi on sharp left to right kill attempts. they shouldn't even hit that shot, 3 out of 4 have no chance. they hit the ball out almost every time, is it the pressure of the match? just don't do the shot, again I can't believe they are so bad with that shot in practice.

we are a very good team, and just have to trust that Tyler & Co. can work on the hitters pysches to go hard more, and also Agi and Karach at times get too 'cute' on out of position attempts, just get teh damn ball over.

we are throwing away 2 points each set with the lack of confidence and brain-fart attemps.

overall, it's a great team, 6-4 frankly I would have taken in a heartbeat before the season.

the serve-receive is the best for a Beach team in a decade. outstanding

by quirks of the schedule, we play the 4 toughest Big West teams the first two weeks and last two weeks, with frankly the in-between 10 matches against teams that have combined for a 15-48 record, ouch

gonna be challenged big-time next week, Poly can play extremely well, good blocking, albeit they are not a good receiving team, but then the first two sets today neither was NMSU, and then NMSU got that together last two sets. UCSB is on a roll and then UCSD and Hawaii. no more digging a hole to start the Big West.

have no idea who Tyler will roll out starting next week, good to have depth, but then all that depth on the outside are all hitting 0.150 or so, lol
