nothing is well known about our athletic department - it's a secret vault - I mean there hasn't been a strategic plan in place for over 12 years, so everything is a secret
fight songs get replaced on a whim- and we don't even know who's whim it is - no explainations, lol

Fee was forced out. I thought that was well known. That he landed in a better position was fortunate for him. Previous Message
as to Fee, can't blame him, he got out when he found an opportunity. If not for re-alignment and budget issues (not entirely on him), he found a landing spot for his career, nothing more nothing less - most of us would do the same.
the Coaches won the Commie Cup (or as it's now as it's more appropriately called the Dennis Ferrel Jockstrap Trophy). Fee at least didn't screw up with coaches leaving, albeit WVB & Baseball certainly it's hard to say that Fee distinguished himself over 5-6 years, even if one grants him postitive accolades on attempting WVB course correction.
"damn good job" ?? basketball attendance plummeted for the most part & that's on Fee for his decisions, marketing, traditions, etc. nope, one regular season title doesn't make for a great tenure, even with some positive vibes for next year, we still have a dullard personality of a MBB coach who Fee enabled since 2017.
I give Fee credit for solid golf teams, lol. Other than that, nope. A talking head, unless someone actually provides meterics on # of donors, and growth of donor booster base, and some significant growth of Long Beach regional businesses that support Beach athletics other than the Naples Rib Co. Fee's resume coming in was splattered with all sorts of great fund-raising he did at UCSB, lol. How did that work out in terms of broad based support and growth, aside from chumming it up some key boosters (which is again is expected an AD doesn't screw that up).

You are correct. I was looking at the list of winners and didn't realize that this years win wasn't yet on the list, and this was our 2nd win in a row for the Cup.
Regardless of one's position on how well Fee did his job, I think it's clear that the Athletic Department is currently in the most difficult position it's been in in quite a long time. Previous Message
We also won last year in his final season, I say this as no fan of Fee, but give him his due. Previous Message
It does? The last time Long Beach won a Commissioner’s cup was the year immediately before Fee arrived, and this one was in the first year after he left (yes, there were two years where no winner was named due to Covid.) Previous Message
It also shows that Mr Fee did a damn good job while he was here. Previous Message
With the Softball title (a 60 point swing in points with the Beach sweep over Fullerton), A dominating title in women's T&F which is a 10 team sport, and a 2nd (missing a title by 0.02 seconds no less) in Men's Track & Field. Beach will win the Commie Cup. Even an 8th place finish in baseball and a Fullerton or SB or Irvine title in Baseball won't change things.
goes to show maybe u don't need a permanent AD to succeed in sports
5 titles in the spring, and 3 2nds.
also, point system is still poorly constructed, that a top 5 ranked team in MVB only gets 80 points or that Beach/Hawaii only get 120 points and being final 4 teams. the league should revisit the 6 & 7 team sports points
