on a boomerang antenna call, Knipe questioned the down ref without pulling his green card.
the convo went on a bit long, then the two refs conferred via their mic, then the actually talked and all the refs/linesman got summoned for a convention, then they went back, as the refs converferred some more by mic (enough already!), then after about 10 minutes they reversed the call.
waaaay too long, can't blame Knipe for trying to score the point, and couldn't blame Nygaard for being upset and frustrated at the scope of discussion occuring. he didn't challenge the end result, but wasn't too thrilled with the proces..
kinda comical, but it's like the refs almost didn't know the rules or how to sort the rules out - just way to long a break, and then Beach proceeded to hit a service error, so justice I guess.
nice beatdown of a downtrodden USC
we hit only about 0.250, which was a bit of surprise, seemed better
still, we didn't have the most crisp out of system play, need better passes even if it is out of system
serve was good
tonight is a classic trap match. I expect USC will play much better, they have too much talent with Gallas and Kobrine & that middle to play that way
plus, have to think USC was a little bit embarrassed, that was easily the most energized crowd they've seen this year, every call went against them, they had lots of frustration
just think USC will be pretty motivated to turn things around.
with Grand Canyon and Ohio State losing this week, Beach needs to come out strong and take advantage and take it to USC
