if we were actually a top 100 program. We haven't been since 2016, then yeah one could say that

we are about 175, and actually we were last year only the Big West top 4 teams were much improved this year.

every loss has context, the scoreboard and the opponent make the loss look bad, and it is, but it's not 'historic' by any means. one could see this loss coming the last couple weeks. not an excuse, just we didn't have Murray, and horrific stretches of guard play don't cut it.

so it's historic poor guard play we haven't seen since I don't know when, but I wouldn't put it as a historic loss.

if we had had Murray from get go at 100%, then yeah, 7th alone would have been horrific, and yeah this loss would have been maybe close to the worst in history.

Ok, I admit, I didn't watch the game but I think I'm probably not the only person that can say this.

That being said, I'm a 40+ yr LB fan and have seen many good and bad games. That being said...

When you read about a winning team losing to an 8 win team by 20pts in the 1st round of a end of a season game it's alarming to say the least when you think about it.

To put this into context... This was a historic loss.. no two ways about it. This was a Buster Douglass/Mike Tyson upset. This was almost on par with Cumberland losing to Georgia Tech 222-0.

You (Monsoon and LB athletics) can't really spin this any other way.

I mean... were the rims bent? snow on the court? Beach players had shoes on the wrong feat? Beach was caught in a time machine and they thought the game was preseason game in August? I'm waiting..

I would say this... over the last 15 yrs the administration has proven it gives less then two sh$ts about the success of the program and I also understand that Monsoon is simply doing what anyone else would do that had marginal talent and knew he had a gravy train... he stays on the train! $400k/yr + free CC and education for his kid(s)? duh he stays.

But what happens now? logic would seem to dictate it's time to clean house.. BIG change(s), etc. But we also know it's THE BEACH and big change means going from Costco toilet paper 2 ply to 1 ply in the mens bathrooms so let's say Im not hopeful that we won't see this movie YET AGAIN next season and the next 10 after that.

The Beach is permanently stuck in the boring, no one cares, middle ground. They don't suck enough or win enough for people to care.
