yesterday had a bit of everything, lol

so on the positive regarding yesterday and the BWCT

#1) for about 13 minutes in the core of the 2nd half, we had our most dominating performance, we shut them down - not only that on offense we actually played a deliberate pace and got good shots, we didn't have fast-breaks that broke down, our transition buckets were no doubt breakaways vs. fast breaks - it was high percentage basketall domination

#2) Our 3 pt shooting while not great, we have a broad threat IF guys take the shots when squared up and in offense. even Tone hit a couple nice onces - we aren't horrible any more, but still not great

#3) we can win any BW game, even with a 7 man roration

ok to temper all that

#1) we are so on edge if AT or LT gets that 2nd foul in first half (like yesterday) and has to sit for long stretches, it's hard to imagine we could play 4 straight games and not get in a hole, especially cause teams are going after those two, not because it's a good play per se, just because our opponents just want to get their butts onthe bench asap in a game

#2) I m half expecting Tsohonis not to play on Tuesday, maybe after that, it's been clear for 3 or so weeks he's not 100%, maybe just roll the dice with rest and hope he can do something on Thursday. & we need him at times clearly

#3) I'm thinking all they work on until Tuesday, aside from rest, is breaking the press, especially to avoid traps, we have to try something else. have to consider someone else other than AT throwing the ball in, so we can actually get the ball TO AT on inbounds. Tone has to know not to EVER dribble towards the sidelines when pressed

#4) Cal Poly is no easy out, Beach has handled them easily, and they'll slow it down this time, and they can get good guard and defensive play


I like this team, despite some obvious dysfunctional play. AT is just phenomenal to me. He's got Michael Jordan -esque type qualities, I don't even worry about not adding another point guard next year, because frankly I believe AT adding (or at least unleashing from teh get-go) a jumper, further improving his skills, and his attitude is such a complete player. He can guard anybody on the court. Now do we need better play at the point? of course. hopefully all these guys come back the defensive ability if Jones & Tsohonis are 100% is tremendous.

season goes by too fast, the team has shown a lot of grit, it's been unfortunate with some of the breaks, especially what Murray dealth with.

give the reigns to Scholl & Co. next year with this staff, let Monson consult, and hopefully win next week. Go Beach
