3 minutes (minus the last 15 seconds or so) does not make for a good basketball game

minor miracle that had a chance to tie

#1) we came out lost in our pick n roll, even though looked like we tried to be more aggresive, but once again LT got exposed, and also picked up the early fouls. scouting report had to be to not let Hepa alone for a 3, and he proceeded to be alone and drain 3s.

#2) Outrebounded again, partially LT on the bench, like Riverside Hawaii doesn't back down on the boards, they are physical. the party is over.

#3) we cut down on some TOs, we shot the 3 decent, we hit FTs, well ecxcept for one really big one....and still got dominated

#4) AT had another subpar game, not sure if it's the physical interior of Hawaii, maybe more scouting opposing bigs staying on their feet forcing tougher shots.

#5) Tone.. he needs to play and needs to learn. maybe throttling back doesn't suit him, only one speed. just that pull up 3 with 4 Hawaii guys back another totally brain dead shot selection. he doesn't shoot the 3 well, he's trying to defend. offense doesn't make much progress. he's got to play, two weeks to learn. if only at least take decent shots.

#6) why not press hard early? at least a few minutes. I get teams can figure some of it out, and putting it on late in game when more pressure can help.

#7) this wasn't a loss to pin on one player. LT made a bad shot selection, AT & Tone not best games.....still

#8) Tsahonis. it's a fine line, we need him to have a confident scorer mentality. just the thought to get him points from giving it up and giving it up isn't really going anywhere. He can get to the line. but he really doesn't shoot the 3 well, he should lay off. Rotegaard is our best 3 pot shooter, 40%, and he didn't take ONE f'ng shot.
Monson has to find a way to get into Tsahonis head to be more patient, part of our offense is scoring quick IF, man, IF it's in transition, not a quick jack-up in the half court.

& then Tsahonis didn't finish a fast-break, and then instead of not passing to a streaking AJ George the last time down, he was close to getting bailed out, he did get fouled, but was bull-headed again on a decision. and then short-armed the last FT. it's not just a shooting slump, a combo of some bad decisions.

the one play that jarred me, in 1st half Tsahonis did one of his dribble into traffic, got stripped, Hawaii had a fast break, they missed, and got the put back rebound. Tsahonis just jogged back and watched, he DID NOT SPRINT back. some of the 'hound do' and 'hand dog' when things don't go great has to change. w/o Murray need him to be out there. but with 4 games left, forget seeding, if a guy can't be out there playing had for 30 minutes, then play them 20 minutes.

seeding doesn't matter at this point. UCR & Hawaii muscled us, had the formula for pick n rolls, and other teams will do the same. We can't start out with man to man, watch LT get schooled at the top of the key, maybe it's some hard hedges.

this team could win the BWCT - there is talent. just we can't have our 3 point players AT, Tone, Tsahonis have bad games all at once, but mostly Tsahnonis has to not be so adament, it's counterintuitive and I don't think that message is getting lost. He doesn't HAVE to score. Jones can, LT can, AJ can, AT can, Stroud can, heck even Rotegaard can if the team would run anything to let him square of

frustrating game, thought they could break-out, but then the start defensively, shot selections, then failure to complete did it. THey have to pull Tsahonis when he makes a bad decision and get in his head to pass the ball and he'll get it back, not sure what else. he's got talent. the final missed FT is acceptable, just a game of poor
decisions before that stinks.

it's not panic time, but the team needs to regroup and still get thru pick n rolls, and guys boarding, and stop jack-ups when there's no advantage

SB is beatable, they are good, but not like some great team. the team last two games looked a little flustered when Riv & Haw have took it inside to us. need to punch back
