Arizona has a popular female African-American coach who is well-like by the team and has strong ties to their recruits, so Arizona might go that way, but I know Tyler is interested.

If Janey doesn't fund the 3rd assistant coach position starting next season, I can see that as a sticking point. That would put us behind UH, Cal Poly and UCSB in the Big West. Tyler came back to win big, not just to be highly paid. Previous Message
I don't know if it's really a concern. There's some VT posters that for some reason seem to 'have it in' for Long Beach and seem to want Tyler to take any and every opportunity that comes up.
Again, Tyler is making more here than at Arizona, while the Pac-12 has no question recruiting advantages, Long Beach has a straight-forward path to titles in the Big West, which runs thru Hawaii rather than running thru UCLA/USC/Wash/Ore/Stanford to get a title. A great area, a solid school even if not a research institution.
We all know Beach is a tough 'sell' for many recruits or sometimes more importantly their parents.
Tyler's only been here one year, even he has a lot to prove. Yeah uphill battle in many respects fighting perception battles, but it's not like all these other jobs are that much better even in a BCS. Nebraska, Texas, Wisconsin, UCLA, USC, Stanford are in that upper realm. After that few A listers, frankly it's the coach that makes the program.
I'm amazed Hawaii's WVB coach name doesn't come up, I think she's proven to be a really good training/motivation coach and would think a lot of money could get her away from the islands.
I think Tyler is staying, just wish the constant circus when any opening comes up would go away.
