since Jones and AT are the only guys that can defend, I'm t the point of put Jadon on the best perimeter player, and AT on the next best guy. let LT sit in the paint, and the other two guys play zone

our zone is SLOW. and we get beat man to man. we press effectively sporadically, and don't trap fast enough.

granted, yeah, some other player might be able to go off against that type of 'gimmick' defense, but we just don't have the team speed (Tsahonis, Rootegard, Stroud, even Murray are all too slow individually and collectively to play the type of defense CDM wants, which is man-to-man with trap underneath or that 1-3-1 zone)

we aren't forcing TOs, and with the poor 3 pt disparity, the team has to fix it to force TOs, we simply can't trade 2s for 3s, even with our rebounding advantage.

it's a conflict to try to play fast when you are trading 2s for 3s at a fast rate. we really should be playing a very slow pace since we can't hit a 3, or hybrid pace with this roster - which is counter to what fans want and even CDMs philosophy. there's not a good solution really. not having Cobb/SLater/Roberts mature defense is just glaring from this year to last. Tone goes nowhere fast in his play a lot, god bless him for trying. We are seeing how 'slow' Murray is with teams keyed on him and not 3 pt shot he can hit. He just did not develop a 3 pt shot over the summer, no way he can play pro without that shot.
