Stroud played about 25 minutes

he's had some good moments, just in the scheme of that game, with UCSD spreading the perimeter players

we had Stroud often guarding a guy and pressuring a guy out at the arc and beyond, just was begging for his man to burn him one on one, not an indictment on Stroud just really he has some big span, but not a perimeter defender

Rootegard sat, and I get some of that, and get he hasn't hit 3s as we need, but he is the most fundamentally sound box-out guy

was just frustrated watching the game at the match-up issues we put ourselves (and UCSD exploited) on us to beat us and by beating their man on the perimeter putting themselves in position for FTs

latter 1st half it looked like common sense would prevail as we did make them look really bad that last 10 minutes of the first half, but they went to isolation, and time after time exploited pick n rolls

without Roberts, Cobb our small defense that switched and frustrated those types of schems is all gone

that an no ability (or not even attempting to) to trap ANYBODY on a shitty USCD game really hurt

just frustrating, maybe we'll 'luck' ourselves into some good match-ups today with our bigs

our best 3 point shooter is Polynice, lol, who'd of thought...mostly though it's that we don't go inside out well or isolate well to even get enough good looking 3s.

but the defense on Thursday was the story just awful to not be able to turn those guys over.

I want to see more of George and Hunter defending, and going small for 4 or 5 minutes to trap guys
