a year ago, our dance team was tremendous, the band at times showed some rejuvination

but right now, the University and AD (I mean Athletic Department not just the AD) has just dropped the ball big-time

the Dance team seems to be more 2nd fiddle. I get that some level of the "DJ -type" fanfare is ok, but this President/AD seem hell bent to destroy any semblance of tradition at Long Beach State for...

1) Is it some pre-conceived notion all things before Jane were inherently racist?, 49er, music program, fight sond (all good men to the front is maybe racist and sexist?), Jesus Christ Superstar,
& thus they all must be destroyed and eradicated?

2) Has AD marketing being taken over my some one or two people who simply have 'ideas' in their head about what THEY want or want to try and making unilateral decisions?'



it just seems so inconceivable when 10, even 5 years ago Beach Dance & Band was the top or at the top 2 or 3 in terms of quality programs presented at games. Now it's basically looks like a bottom 3 Northridge or Riverside type of thing - horrendous

these 'unilateral' decisions? surely the must be authoritative or unilateral decisions to destroy entirely Long Beach identity, when there is nothing in place right now but a shark running around that no one wants to even acknowledge - this crap is literally being shoved down the throat? and for what reasons

Doesn't Long Beach have an esteemed music program, rooted from the days of having 4 jazz bands under Prince

isn't Jesus CHrist Superstar a long recognized multi-cultural iconic song?

someone just is inventing a new fight song?

this sort of B*llS$tt would never go over at USC or UCLA in a million years. Where in hades is the leadership for the University?
