the only thing is Megan will be looking for a higher paying, higher prestige position than Beach,
but you never know. maybe she loves SoCal. just wish it could be filled sooner - the xfer period is starting in earnest late December, and the new coach won't be on board until mid-late January Previous Message
Having Danielle Scott on the staff would be awesome. Previous Message
A friend asked me earlier today who I would want as the lead assistant and I said Pendergast and the second Daniel Scott. This would give Tyler a seasoned coach and another one with LBSU ties and a good role model. I am sure Pendergast will be highly sought after because she is hardworking and good recruiter and not sure Scott would want to make the move to D1 coaching. Previous Message
I thought she might be a candidate for the job last year, has the pedigree.
I'm just not sure how to evaluate assistants we don't see.
UCLA had good recruiting, so that's a positive. the 2021 season they performed well.
which assistants are good trainers/teachers?
to me the two things that stood out this year was MB didn't achieve like expected. Also, some of the decisions seemed odd. Both ultimately fall on Tyler. Recruiting of course will solve lots of issues.
I found it interesting Tyler entrusted serving ques to Molina, a volunteer.
it's simply possible Tyler struggled to learn how to delegate, having never been in that position - not an easy skill.
actually would have been interesting if Tyler had been able to keep Matt & Sabrina on the staff. the dynamics though between staff might have been awkward. Previous Message
what would you think of Megan as the new No 1 assistant and recruiting coordinator? she is sharp as a tack, and someone who could take over for Tyler not if but when he gets an offer to good to refuse.
