Our new Bigs are in for an awakening tonight. We'll see how they handle it.
the game could go a lot of different ways
UCLA with Singleton and Campbell and Juaquez who have all played in a number of touranment games
UCLA will play a guard heavy line-up, so expect we will see a LOT more pressure on the ball and off ball than vs. CBU. great test for Murray, Hunter, and Tsahonis
that means expect Murray may get more opportunities, CBU was really focused on Murray and he still had a solid game with 13 points and only 1 turnover and some good bucks to settle the team early- if that's a sub-par game, that's pretty good
for Hunter, wow, he may go so fast he has 5 turnovers or may go so fast he repeats his assists - it'll be interesting
to me,
the game hinges on Hunter and Murray hitting at least a couple of 3s to keep UCLA perimeter honest. for Tsonahis, hope he learned not to force any 3s, and can penetrate - others can score - at some point he'll get a good look, just needs to wait for it.
limiting TOs against a very good and quick UCLA team
and Lassina Traore learning from the CBU game, as great as he looked dominant inside, he threw up a number of poor ill-advised shots that he doesn't have to throw up shots just because he gets a board or has the ball low. let's see if gets some kick-outs - I'm sure this was a huge point of focus/feedback this week from the coaches. Get the rebound, and re-set if it's not a clear dunk/put-back
I think we can get some offense boards, and we'll have some opportunities
of course UCLA could go on runs, and our switching defense can be effective
and please no easy buckets for UCLA on inbounds plays, I'm sure Cronin has instructed his inbounds guy to look underneath for a wide open layup, lol
Beach advantage is Murray, Traore, and Jones are guys that can play physically with UCLA and also proved with balance they don't have to score to impact the game. no stupid fouls for Jones so he is on the court for 30+ minutes hopefully
