Beach AD admin has a staff of 5 for SIDs/media; Cal Baptist has 2.
Beach AD has a staff of 8 for academics/counseling
Cal Baptist has a staff of 3
does that mean Beach is so much better in getting out information and academic support?
I do not know if one is 'better' than the other, perhaps there are other services (such as tutoring ) that Cal Baptist utilizes. not saying one or the other is better, but maybe good for the AD to look at how it applies the services it does and what is the actual value of those services to the student-athletes and the programs.
Cal Baptist likely sees an opportunity in the growing Inland Empire
for instance, if the Cal Baptist AD budget was $300,000 or less, that alone would provide for 10 extra schollies
would be hard to get exact budget comparisons with a private university
with all the $$$ they are investing into athletics it might be his best choice -- how can a much smaller school invest so much into athletics and lbst can't? -- must be the president and students are big supporters of there athletic programs -- raise the tuition around $200 per student per year and split the increase between what the students on campus would like and the other half to help support all the d-1 athletic program ---
Forget about it. Riley picked Cal Baptist.
One of the better H.S. players out of Vegas, Tylen Riley, 6'3 PG, is going to announce his decision tomorrow (Sunday) between the Beach, UCR, and Cal Baptist. He's from the same H.S. as Tone Hunter, so that's the likely recruiting connection. If he commits, that makes two H.S. point guards commited to 2023-24. Barring any transfers, we would have Tsuhonis, Hart Jr., Hunter and Riley at point for 23-24. That's pretty good depth if Hart Jr. and Hunter are as good as advertised. So far, liking the recruiting effort!
