the problem is the NCAA criteria. Unfortunately, it's not that LB has a significantly better resume than Penn State (or even better than UCLA). The problem is the damn selection criteria and RPI. Princeton winning today gave PSU another edge in criteria. It all depends on how many 'blinders' the committee puts on, and 3 committee members are from the eastern/mid-west teams, and 2 from the western teams. To assume LB is in as an at-large, you have to assume that the committee looks in depth at top 10/15 performance as well as the common opponents, which they simply don't have to. They can pick which criteria they want to get which team in that they want (or vote on)

A win really puts us in a much better spot to actually win the NC. Plus would be nice to have bragging right to claim the most BWT crowns. Currently it is 1 for LBSU, 1 for USCB, and 1 for Hawaii. We are already dominated the regular season with 3 regular season championships compared to Hawaii's 1.

With a win we would be #1 seed with Ball State as the #2 seed. Guessing we would play the winner of Pepperdine (assuming they don't blow their 2-0 lead over Stanford) and UCLA. I mean unless the NCAA wanted to put UCLA on the other side and have us play Penn State/Pepperdine winner instead. Not saying that is the "fair" thing to do BUT it would make the most sense tv wise as it would assure a very nice crowd if LBSU and UCLA make the finals.

With a loss we would have to beat a good team in the quarters to even make the semis. I mean we would probably have to play either Hawaii or UCLA/Penn State in the quarters. All three of those teams are more than capable off winning the NC so would 100% be a tough match.
