Re: too bad, this was a winnable game
I dont' think there were any possible coaching adjustments. We simply played with 5 guards the entire game,
the only possible adjustment that could have been made would have been to stop trying to front with backside help, and just let their post players go one on one, may ahve at least prevented BYU from finallyl hitting 3s, but then BYU inside players would have scored virtually at will inside, which they did a lot in the first half, we just outscored them.
once ROberts missed his first 3-4 shots and couldn't convert, and SLater picked up fouls, we no ability to ourscore them 2nd half. Hardly a surprise, kind of funny to see 6'0" guys guarding their post players inside. a bit of a joke, that had nothing to do with coaching
Haven't watched a whole lot of this team, but WOW, what a fragile group they were. I mean how do you get UP by 8 and lose by 22? a 30pt swing? Great non coaching adjustments CDM.. again..
if we had at least one big, could have competed, BYU's post players weren't anything special, not as good as Fullerton
but can't play 40 minutes with 5 guards lol, it was pretty obvious we had no post defense, almost should have just stopped fronting, and letting them take easy twos versus getting their 3 pt shooters looks.
without any big whatsover, was bound to get worn down, between Slater's foul trouble and ROberts gone cold, Murray can't do it alone
another put up and demonstrate chance of significant proportion for CDM
tonight is really a chance for Monson to show something, show something he hasn't been able to do in 15 years
we are 1-4 in BWCT finals, ouch
we are 0-4 in the post-season
yeah, not the favorite, this is a chance to really show if he and the staff can construct and motivate a team through a challenge against a top 100 team, channel dissapointment into somehting he's not been able to do
a chance to show off the determination that won a title, against higher level competition that the Big West
