anything other than winning the BWCT will be dissapointing
this will be the Fifth BWCT championship game under Monson
we have a real solid chance, or as much as the other teams.
need some good bounces, some unlikely critical plays from perhaps Rotegaard or Scott unexpected
a Booker layup a few years back and maybe it's LB instead of Fullerton winning
Bibbs hitting that 3 vs. Hawaii in 2016, vs. just rimming out
it's a fun team, hope they come out a little better to start than we've seen last 3 games, can't keep starting like that and always come back, and keep pushing their luck
As usual, the BWT is pretty much wide open and it wouldn't shock me to see the Beach lose their 1st game or to win the whole thing. They aren't good enough to beat ANYONE on talent alone. If they win the 1st game, I'll be pleased. Yes the bar is set REALLY LOW.
I know they jumped us last time we played, but this doesn't feel like a particularly good UCI team by comparison to what we've seen. Clearly they have some size we don't, but they seem a little soft...something Turner's been pretty open about noting (maybe for effect). UCSB's won 8 of 9, with a couple of blowouts and none of the wins by less than 5 points, so I'll be a little surprised if that's not who we see. Would prefer to see them on the other side of the bracket TBH.
To me, the second round is the danger zone. We should win our first game, then we get the winner of SB and Irvine. Both those teams have beaten us. If we get past that game, the finals look easier by comparison.
per massey, about 20%, which makes sense, we have the easiest path to the semis, but the semis and finals are all toss-up match-ups for the top 6 teams, there's never been a more evenly matched tournament.
we have the guards, all those other 5 teams have clear post presence
Irvine vs. UCSB
Hawaii vs. Riverside
Fullerton vs. Davis/Poly
LB vs. NOrth/Bake (prefer North)
semi-final (should LB win) vs. the winner of Irvine/UCSB
