Hawaii did beat up on Loyola solidly, so they are good. Hawaii just doesn't play high level competition basically until the Big West starts, so they'll be hard to gauge even though they might be undefeated all the way until conference.
If one team has suffered scheduling-wise with the conference sponsoring MVB, it's Hawaii, it's a total nightmare for them for their non-conf scheduling, they couldn't get a single MPSF to go to Hawaii this year for a match, and only play Stanford once. I don't get it, like the MPSF is boycotting them. Almost think in the years that Hawaii has to travel to LB, we should consider to go out there for some non-conf matches.
or the BIg West is gonna have to consider sponsoring something like a Big West-MPSF challenge, to get them a half-decent schedule. Hawaii's scheduling isn't LB's responsibility, but neither is it in the conference's interest to have a program like Hawaii that has incredible support like it does play these crappy non-conf schedules before March year after year. To have fans watch 2 months of JV matches is pretty sad.
Our basketball fans don't like two non-D1 games, Hawaii is basically playing 10 of those in a 25 game schedule! yikes!

Who has more depth than us? The guys coming in off the bench are better than most teams starters. Just a word on Hawaii. Yes they have Thelle (sp) and he just might be this years top setter, but they will have trouble passing and their libero play is less than solid. Their issues might not show up until they start playing top competition, but they are not as strong as their fans believe. Previous Message
not the highest caliber competition, still
tonite was about Simon Torwie, came in 2nd set, and just like Nikolov had the wow factor serving from the get go, Torwie just unleased these downhill scary bombs, getting 4 aces in two sets and wrecking havoc, a little bit like Hanes from Ohio State (the pig used to spit at opponents) in that NCAA semi at Pauley. Also tried Towrie at MB to supplement the blocking.
Godbold is like a reincarnation of Ensign, just superb accuracy.
the depth of this team is just freaking crazy.
have to temper these weren't top 10 teams, so Lewis and Loyola next week, especially Lewis is gonna be the real gauge of this team early. Lewis has some players.
