I think people are imagineering way to much on recruiting challenges.
yes there are recruiting challenges.
Knipe is about as plugged into the national VB world as anyone out there. It's why we (with BYU & Hawaii & UCLA maybe) are one of the top 4 programs
Tyler is about as plugged into the national VB scene as anyone out there. Yes, there are 'coordination' to be done. They'll get it done. But that's why he 'stole' 3 xfers, something even BG couldn't even do in his latter years.
this decision is this.
McRae was bound to apply (maybe applied to be the WVB Head coach for all we know) for a HC and be poached (think a Riverside could come calling).
This we we have THREE head coachign types, yeah one is an associate for both programs (lol, now everybody has an 'associate' title in programs, assistant is no longer good enough, maybe started with HIlliard because Petite had to go on maternity leave a couple of years, so was appropro) and this construct retains Nick and makes it less likely for him to leave since he gets a nice salary bump and the pedigree to give him option to become a HC at some time, which he will, hey maybe it'll happen in six years when Tyler takes over a USA team after he wins LB's 4th NC (we can only dream, and getting waaaay ahead of ourselves) because these guys are driven that way.
Go Beach. Love the attitude the Univeristy is going to be Volleyball U, and not take a back-seat to anybody
