vaccine's are effective (statistically speaking), the boosters will be effective
the problem with Covid is it happened in a heightened social media era in our history, while being more deadly than the flu....but not as debilitating as polio (albeit maybe some would argue about that)
as to public health policy, it's odd because we have both vaccines AND testing options (for objectors of vaccines, however much the objectors don't comprehend or won't allow themselves to trust the science of vaccinations)
in any case, 3 years and 3 'waves' each winter, so better get used to it.
I just don't know how a state like California that is so 'liability aversion' driven and beholden to a trial lawyers mentality in our governance will be able to deal effectively with it in the long run having let the 'quaranteen' genie out of the bottle, California will be hard-pressed to put it back in
