If Tyler Hildebrand is the new coach, and if none of the key players transfer, I think as early as next season the conference will be looking up at LBSU. A few key transfers and this team is very capable of winning conference. Previous Message
Tyler coming home would really excite the LB community. He would immediately inject new life into the program. Give him 3 years and Robyn at UH will have some sleepless nights worrying about Hawaii's continuing domination of the conference. Tia did a good job filling in, but she's not going to get us to a higher level. I think Tia's natural position is OH. She could get time there if the rumors about Erykah are true. Or it could be a spot for Jenny Jordan if she returns. Agree about the serving and pass receive needing to improve. Early in the season we often were confused in the back row. Sabrina fixed some of that and we starting putting on more pressure serving. Previous Message
I know the setting can improve but to me the key to the program turnaround is serving and passing/receiving
Our serving was so poss poor with rrrors without putting on pressure for most of year
Sabrina instilled confidence in the serving Previous Message
Does the beach program even have a paid assistant or are they volunteers? Also Beachbacker on the other board is reporting the announcement will be early next week. We need to get this done as I checked the transfer portal and a lot of the better setters are already being snatched up. Previous Message
If we go after Tyler, LB can offer him both the indoor HC job and a role in the Beach program, his experience in both is a plus, and a way to get a competitive salary.....just saying, there s some creativity in the staff for our Beach teams that can be made Previous Message
Exactly, why the delay? Don't see how any final four coach other than Tyler might be interested. I can not Rule out Megan. Listened to a UCLA podcast with her and it's easy to see how Mr. Fee would fall in love with her. She knows exactly what to say as any good former psych major would. Hopefully Mr. Fee did not muck up the entire process as you mentioned as a possibility in an earlier post. If he did mess up, I for one am thankful for Sabrina. Previous Message

I sure hope the lack of an announcement by Fee is based on the hiring of a coach on a final four team. Hildebrand would be a great hire that would excite the LB community and volleyball fans throughout SoCal.
If the hire is not a show stopper the question will be why did it take so long with such an early start. Previous Message
We can only hope and PRAY. Previous Message
Is it possible that Mr. Fee is waiting on Tyler? Could we get so fortunate? Tyler, I believe is the one person who could restore our program to a very high level. Previous Message
....when will the new coach be announced ? Previous Message
Cant believe they d want Rubio
Have to believe all the interviews are done
Just final negotiation or a site visit left Previous Message
He's not my recommendation, (Tyler remains my #1 choice) but rumor has it Dave Rubio and Arizona may be ready to divorce after 25 years of marriage. Hiring Dave would be quite a change for the players. They would think they were drafted into the army and were in some never ending boot camp. Going from the chaotic style of the previous coaches to an old school coach who is known for not tolerating any nonsense. Sure Dave is 62 but he could easily coach another 5 to 10 years. just throwing it out there. Previous Message
Who would be your recommendation for a new coach? Previous Message
I could not handle 'moon ball sets' VB, and watch 49er volleyball, no way no how
I don't expect BG again, but have to recruit players who can be taught to make crisp passes, and recruit an athletic setter (Tia is athletic at least)
I realize an AD can't tell a coach how to play, but puuhhhleeze have some CLUE of a coaches style,
MBs want play on a quick tempo teams, so they can show off, at least the athletic ones do, Bacon will become a very good MB with the proper coaching Previous Message
I would not see her as an exciting hire. She has the head coaching experience and some limited success at UNLV but has not recruited at a level to make UNLV a player regionally. I have not watched UNLV play much but if I remember correctly her teams did not play up tempo much. I would prefer a coach that plays fast like Brian did and the current UCSB program does. Could Mr. Fee be waiting on a coach in the NVIC tournament that we all forgot about? Maybe a head coach like Dawn Sullivan etc?
