We need a coach who can "coach players up" through better training than they can get elsewhere. It's how we became a Volleyball school, and the only way to get to a place where we can compete for top recruits. Campbell is not the answer.

He's a Nebraska assistant, plus a USA coach
he'd bring a lot of credibility for recruits. still Long Beach requires a great recruiter for recruits that weren't born the last time LB played for a NC. Banners in the rafter are great, but need a lot more help than that. Previous Message
Hasn't Tyler (and wife a Nebraska women's assistant) been back in Southern Ca for a few years? I was thinking he was coaching with US Volleyball in Orange County in some sort of beach capacity? Previous Message
This is good timing for the decision. Give the program as much time as possible to plan.
people will jump to all sorts of candidates, including Misty May of course, but not sure this is what she would want. Recruits for 2022 were 8 years old when she was at her peak.
The facilities are good, just comes down to the coach. everyone always wants 'Beach connections'
there's:
Campbell. Proven solid coach.
May. nothing needs to be said, still no D1 experience
Tyler Hildebrand, great credentials, albeit not a head coach, although might be a pay cut from an assistant at Nebraska.
IMO, those 3 alone make a very good pool to start.
Hilliard, those days are over, he's trying to figure out how not to take over a SDSU program.
they'll get 50 applicants at least, and suspect Fee will be less inclined in valuing LB 'lineage' this time around, than when BG got the 'Bum's Rush' push-out from Fee and Mrs. Doubtfire
