I don't think that's their goal. like a lot of things our AD department has changed, it doesn't have the 'feel' of LB ownership anymore. Employees including Fee who I'm sure mean well, however it just has the feel of a number who are there to have a job while looking for another is my take.
the Dan Smith thing was a big impetus, total professional and gave the LB product (and Big West) a lot of class.
it's just become so deflating to follow, I got excited and a 'lifer' really by the Joe Harrington era, then BG came along, and baseball was high quality, and the MVB program has had consistency and great players continually running thru for 20 years, despite some near misses.
will still root, very appreciative that the players have chosen LB State; just that 'realistic' commentary on the two highest profile programs itself lacks so much joy so why even compound the situation/misery at this point - so better to just enjoy what can be enjoyed I guess, should have quit on those sports after Covid anyway. i think that is the goal of the hill to have the fans, boasters, season ticket holders get so upset with the success of the program that they walk away and in doing so the ad and his staff along with the hill gets their way of bring down our athletics to a thought pattern of mediocrity -they don't want high achievers, they want you to think out of the box that they want to put around you - they can't control successful people or programs that are for free thinkers -- they want follower (sheep) not leaders -- another sad day for the 49er family if you decide not to post in the future -- Previous Message
yesterday was the end, enough
the postings are useless and probably have been for some time, and what is stated is certainly everything the players, coaches, Fee, the entire Athletic Dept realize if they were to be completely honest and realize it anyway....but for PR purposes and whatever motivation they are trying to have, they won't state it publicly, it's not PC or in their interest to do so. albeit being honest about the state would be the decent step to dealing with it.
yesterday was as low as it could get for WVB. Monson should have never been extended, he's been hanging on and stumbling for 5 years since the nice Faust season, and even from 2013 to and including that Faust season he couldn't convert on 3 really solid chances for a bid after the 2012 apex (sheesh, that was almost a decade ago). hopefully MBB makes some noise, one can only hope. glimmers (like Booker) should not define a program. Joy's a different story, she was/is Beach legacy, it is I guess possible she could eventually get there despite most of the data to the contrary. again, glimmers like Kash's ascendence to nationally significant performances, shouldn't define a program. constant improvement should
Fee is a mouthpiece as we have discovered, branding himself first as NuttinFiner pointed out almost 3-4 years ago; Jane has become a disaster, with a vision of mediorcrity, and she somehow has got stuck in the mud trying to articulate or policy her way for LB to be some diverse/inclusive University when the fact is simply that Long Beach was established already as one of the most diverse/inclusive/value Universities before she arrived so she basically she hasn't accomplished anything other than create acrimony and divorce herself from critical thinking which one would think should be a no-no for an academic University. Not sure what she is still hanging around for, hopefully she retires end of this year with probable expected proclamations of 'accomplishments' when she hasn't made a single significant accomplishment for the University. Seriously, a big zip
adieu & Go Beach
