I haven't posted here for a while, primarily due to apathy, but observationally speaking it's sad and odd that Long Beach State athletics has virtually fallen off the map at the D1 level in terms of relevance.

There was a time not too long ago that MBB WBB and to a lesser extent MVB were at least recognizable on a national level but WOW has that ship sailed.

Now the MBB and WBB programs struggle to stay just competitive at the D1 level, let alone compete. How in the world is Few still there? Monson? is he even alive still? how old is he now, 95? Better... how many grandkids do his 1st LB players have now... 3-4? The last time CDM won anything I think there was a war in Vietnam, Im pretty sure.

Does anyone care .01 about the program or is it just a glorified intramural situation where instead of participation medals everyone gets a 4 year ride for showing up.

The metrics that are used to gauge success of the various athletic programs must not include anything about winning. Strange way to define success if ya ask me.

I've wasted enough time writing this, back to watching other schools with teams and administrations that are interested in putting an entertaining product on the floor.
