Posted by Michael Maruzzella You can hike backwards to the dynamite shack and directly across from it you'll see a trail. Follow the trail and bear to the right when you reach a fork. Continue up and around the mine until you see a fenced in area ( barbed-wire top ). You can access the McCullom mine from the ventilation shaft on the right. It's mostly caved in, but continue to your left through an opening in the cement wall. You will notice narrow guage tracks. This is a 1,300 foot connecting tunnel beween the two mines. There are a series of 11 side tunnels dug by Bethlehem Steel during W.W.2 to measure iron content in the ore. The decaying boxes are the remains of a mushroom growing business in the early 1960's. Enjoy the tour,

The Theall and McCollum mines are located off Stoneleigh Ave., on Magnetic Mine Rd.(lower mine rd.) about a mile from the paved road. Look on your right for a cleared area with a large pile of waste rocks. Hike over the hill and when you get to a level area, walk to your right. looking for a silver steel shack (dynamite storage)and a cliff with a large bank of rocks piled against it. The Theall audit was visible through a large iron door until the landowner piled cull agaoinst it. If you look at the top of the pile, you can see where kids have dug a tunnel down to the door opening.
