Southwest Airlines and Garment Bags

We are flying to Jacksonville and need to know if anyone has ever brought on garment bags with their competition clothes in it. I cannot find whether there is a closet to hang them or if we will have to fold them to put in the over head bins.

We have 4 garment bags. Please help if you know what or how to get this to Jacksonville if they do not have a closet to hang them in.

Mom is afraid to check in competition clothes....

We flew Southwest to Dallas in January and no they do not have anywhere to hang garment bags:-)

Everything that you carry on will have to go in the overhead bins. Mandi and I each took one carry on suitcase that was the max size and between the two we packed all of her competetion clothing, shoes and accessories. As soon as we got to the room we pulled it out and steamed it.

yes you can bring one on EACH in our 11 yrs at world we have never checked a garmet bag we always pack our comp stuff ...I have in the past even shipped things via fed ex but dont try having one person walk on the airplane with all 4 garmet bags trust me they wont let you get away with it and as for closets they went away with the gloves and hats meaning back in the old days LOL best of luck and fly safe Lisa Cunningham

Thank you all for helping us, So Lisa if we all carry one on will they hang it or will we have to put in the overhead bins. Just trying to figure out a suitcase or hanging bags. LOL...We've never flew when we competed always drove...This flyingis new to us.

Sissy, we use to fly back in the day to Vegas for competition, of course everything was different then! God got this and everything will work out! I'll try and call southwest today and ask more info!

just put your garmet bags in the over head try to put them on top of the bags that are in there now flying home I ck it all ....only problem is they would not let me ck Kylie hahahha just kidding good luck to all of you wish we were goingn to be there ....all 20 of us ...Lisa

seriously? I've flown southwest for years!...Fun flights. They're the very best for getting you there! Helpful, gorgeous and FUNNY! I used to fly out of love field at least one every one or two weeks. But forget the garment bag thing...unless you get there first!!! Still a big fan of Southwest Airlines! Good luck to you....and of course, thank you for flying Southwest!
