Part of it is the registries fault, as they should be more careful with registrations especially single ones. However, it is the "breeders" who are mainly at fault. They are the ones that took real papers and put them on the "bandogs". It is all about money to the so called breeders and the registries too.
Why there is so much false Advertising in this breed call "APBT"?
I think the APBT is too popular a breed, and has always appealed to the wrong people. For years , everyone who is ignorant wants a massive rare colored "pitbull". Plus, people will say anything to sell a dog. The average person, does not want to own a pitbull, that want a puppet of the breed. A dog with a pedigree like jeep, but is a rare color, and has a big head. A lot of well bred true gamedogs, just are not impressive looking or over-sized enough for the average person who wants a pit bull.
Why people think Blue are Real APBT?
For some reason people love the color and do not want to believe it goes back into amstaff. 20 years ago you rarely seen them, and now that is all you see. I personally love the amstaffs, and I consider them a pit bull. Nothing has been added in to make them another breed, and technically you can have a game amstaff. However, the Ambullies have other things in them, such as english bulldog, mastiff, and ambull. I have talked to some of the oldest dogmen in the country, and they do mention mousy grays. However, I agree, most of the blues now are bullies or amstaff crosses. The product of fad breeding. If someone told me they had a game blue dog or game blue amstaff, it is possible. However, when some one tells me they have dog, all pure gamelines(boudreaux, chinaman, patrick, ect) and it was blue, I would be very skeptical.
Why people think shorter legs are Real APBT? Some people are impressed with the short wide dogs, and think it means strength. It really means bad elbows and un-athletic dogs. Again, must people do not like the true athlectic, square pit bull , becuase they do not know what a real pit bull looks like.
Why people think the Real Bully jaws are Real APBT? Most people have in their mind what a pit bull is, and they get it in their mind that that is how they should look.
In my opinion, the problem is that most people think the pit bull should like like the Incredible Hulk, when the truth is most real pit bulls look like the dog in the Simpson's cartoon(santas helper).
I personally like a big dog, between 50-60 pounds chainweight.
