discussing these events on another forum; several interesting quesitons were brought to the table.
First, how many folks are gonna be concerned about injuries, which I believe is mostly related to the long/high jump where the dogs land in the sand pit, and does this mean they'll avoid the sport?
There was also a brief discussion about breeding specifically for these events as well as the quesiton pertaining to the availability of dogs already able to perform these events. In my second hand understanding of correct and driven pit bulls, it shouldn't be much of an issue.
Certainly, we're on the right board to get some insight to the last question. Honestly, if in the next X amount of years this thing were to take off and I felt there was a solid future in it, but I was having a hard time finding competent dogs (even from the proven working lines), I bet I'd be willing to take the plunge and start a line of dogs. To me, many of those events encompass a large part of what makes the APBT who he is.
All that said, if I were not having a hard time finding competent dogs, I would be hard pressed to convince myself that I should breed.
