I'm not a sch. guy, but I have plenty of experience working former pit dogs in OB and PP. The old Koehler books have good info on this, Koehler lived and trained in a time when most bulldogs were straight off of other fighters, and his writing displays a strong knowledge of the APBT.
Your best chance of success lies in working the dog around other dogs from a young age, since once the dog is an adult you are left with using much more negative than you would have to with a pup. Doesn't mean it can't be done!
Tom Rose and Annetta Cheek's book "Dog Training with The Touch" has an excellent section on working a dog in bite work that is dog aggressive, I've used the same technique for years with excellent success. The book is well worth it for the rest of the material also!

: Hey,
:
: Does anyone have experience working a hot
: dog in Schutzhund? If so, are there any
: pointers in managing and training with it,
: or is it just not meant to be. I've been
: tossing around the idea with getting my
: other dog in it as well, but I'm not sure if
: it would work out. I really want to try
: tracking most with him. He's got the drive
: for protection, but I don't think he's got
: the right nerves for it. And I'm not sure
: about the OB with off leash work around
: other dogs.
:
: Any info is appreciated.
:
: Thanks,
: Philip
