Ya, that's what Erin brought up, which is why I came here. With the years of experience that people in this group have with working bulldogs, I think it would be a great thing.
Now, I am in no way in charge of the things with what's being discussed. I know one major worry is acceptance of a large group of new people with lots of ideas. People problems mostly, because I know I wouldn't want a bunch of people trying to change a club/organization that I may have been working so hard on.
I read through through the details about the club, and it seems very broad for working outlets, which is good for people interested in all kinds of different working outlets. That's why I think this group would like the idea of incorporating events like those shown on the video to display and test the working ability of the breed.
Another big part of what was being discussed was a registry. In the state of things right now, I think if I was a breeder, my dogs would be unregistered and I'd just write up the peds myself. The breed doesn't really have a registry for itself. AADR just had all their drama with T.L. Williams getting busted, ADBA went all breed a while back. The UKC and AKC (for ASTs) have their own agendas. I think it would be great to have a legitimate dog registry for the breed, one that award Championships for more than just conformation. Its all still just talk, but things like working competitions (Sch, WP, etc) as well as health testing.
Like I said, I'm not really the man in charge, but I'm definitely interested in all of the ideas. Any thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated.

: Ok, well, Oakdog- question for you since
: you're here. . .
:
: Forget about reinventing the wheel. .
: .Knowing that the responsible Pit Bull owner
: community is so small, and the working
: community is a fraction of that- Don't you
: agree that we should have one organization
: that addresses all of our needs? Why should
: we have two small organizations in the US,
: opposed to one large and successful one?

: Just wanted to add some cross posted
: information from a guy who's been in contact
: with them.
:
: They call this sport of theirs either
: "Radical Games" (Esporte Radical)
: or Pit Gameness, but they shy from using the
: latter because is sound like dog fighting to
: the public. Does that sound familiar? So
: Radical Games is the preferred name.

: We've been contacted by a few organizations
: outside of the US (Trinidad, Mexico, &
: others) that were interested in having local
: WPBTCA chapters. I wonder if these guys were
: one of them? They look like they're doing a
: good job. . .
:
: Sean, do you have some contact info for
: these guys, or the people interested in
: starting a separate Working Pit Bull club?

: I was hoping I'd get more responses but the
: reason I posted the vid is that a group of
: people here in the states are trying to put
: together an organization to do the events
: shown. They are trying to put together a
: registry for working pit bulls. Obviously, I
: mentioned WPBTCA as an already existing
: organization and that in order to not try
: and create the wheel again reach out to link
: up with the team. Currently there is an
: effort to bring this to the states and have
: it up and running in hopefully a few short
: years. Think the WPBTCA could support this?

: This was my comment on their message box:
:
: Excellent work guys! Sure wish some of you
: could make it out to our Working Pit Bull
: Championship 2008 (Southern California).
:
: Good clean fun. Don't get any better then
: that ;-)
