Posted by Administrator on October 26, 2007, 5:16 pm I know the league will breath a big sigh of relief now that it's gone, but that's a shame as I think some of the issues discussed on there were both valid and got results. I posted the message about the Keyes incident and gave it 24 hours, so I couldn't be accused of not giving people a right to reply. Whatever the various views on what happened I tried to stick to the facts, knowing it would be a highly contentious subject. There seem to be a lot of cowards sitting in cyberspace, ready to criticise clubs, and if I remember rightly the week before it was Hungerford getting the stick. Ironically the next day the Hellenic website carried the story of messageboard owners being sued for libel, so maybe I'd have done it anyway. There's a good bunch of Clubs in the Hellenic now, and I'm sure all of them try to do things as they should be done - good Clubs run by good people - and in that way Witney are no different from any other. We all give our time for virtually nothing, getting only a little enjoyment every now and again from the football played, so when something undermines that it can be very frustrating and to see so many other people's enjoyment being ruined is very sad indeed. But football is about ups and downs, good times and controversial ones - it would be very boring otherwise. Witney will move on, and so will Highworth and Lee Keyes, so let's just try and enjoy the football, and maybe rebuild some of the bridges that have recently been burned. Rich.

I can confirm that this forum has shut, and for good - a real shame as it proved a very useful site at times but once the anonymous idiots got on here it went too far.
