Hi! I'm getting married June 06, at my church and the reception is indoor with a long veranda that overlooks a lake. I have color dilema! I love fall colors, but they won't go with the time of year. I was thinking pink Peonies (we grow them) b.c. my dress might have pink in it, or what other colors would work? My fiance has really light blue eyes, light blue would be the best for his tie BUT I don't know if I want that as my color. Also for decorations, ideas? My centerpeices that I thought of were hurricaines covered in handmade paper, (either white-ish or ivory color) then a candle on the inside. On the veranda, we are putting tables with floaters bowls for candles and flowers, and I thought maybe urns with flowers speckled with mini-lights? I want it to be elegant, obviously! My "leave wishes/advice for the bride and groom" I love- I have a five foot iron tree that has candles on in, I was thinking of making paper tags with Christmas hooks and then they can hang it from them, plus it will be really pretty outside- except the voltives are red...is red okay in June? My new last name means "Grove of trees" so it's fitting! For my church we have trees and a balcony, I'm going to hang old jelly jars with candles by floral wire from them, it will be pretty! What I would really love to do is have something on the veranda that would hold suspended candles, not sure how that would work, though. The reception area is kind of gray and hunter green, with art-deco (think Frank lloyd wright) sytle chandeliers. Oh- this is cute, my fiance is a medical student, so for the engagement party, we filled beakers with ice and salt, and then placed test tubes (the large kind) with chilled soups and garnishes, like carrot-ginger with creme fraiche or spicy tomato with blue-cheese stuffed olives...REALLY easy to make. We also made mini wedding cakes out of fudge, I got that from Martha Stewart. What would good favor/color/decorating ideas be!? I LOVE this site!
