Posted by Halifax and company on 12/20/2004, 5:04 pm, in reply to "~*~Beloved::Chill~*~" This knowledge that his pups did not truly, in his eyes, love him (for how could one love another they did not know?) did little to boost Hali's self-esteem. However, he was content for now, and prayed to Moro that Tsuka, Mirai and Ani would grow to love him as he already loved them. This summons was startling, but not unwelcomed, and he rose from his curled position, groggy still from the long, dreamless sleep he'd so enjoyed. With another extension of his long jaws, Hali shook himself and snapped into motion, his easy, loping stride brisk. He carried himself still with all the pride he had before, perhaps increased a little; he'd defeated near-certain death thrice, with assistance. That, he imagined, was something to be proud of. Coming upon Spritey, he grinned and nuzzled her, gently licking her forehead. "How do you fare today, my fine lady?" He bowed gently, but his face fell at the sight emerging from the den. A small femme, purest of silver in colour with eyes like dying roses peeked tentatively from the den, ears back and pale eyes wide with fright. Her face was set in determination, and she kept her small body low to the ground, curled before a trio of slumbering pups. She spoke not a word and showed the black and white duet of strangers before her proper respect, looking not into their eyes but instead at the ferocious wings rising from between their withers. Thanh ran like a madwolf, at speeds incredible for a normal wolf, much less a cripple. The young alpha male had heard his grandmother's call and noted the discontent in her voice, and thusly made his way towards Alte's den so quickly that it seemed when he passed his aunt and uncle, he was little more than a streak of blonde fur gone in the space of a few seconds. The fleetness of his foot amazed even him, and as he came upon the none-too-joyful sight of Alte, his pups, and his grandparents, he slowed and panted heavily, hot despite the frigid air. He blinked, faltered in his steps and nearly fell, before regaining his stance and coming to sit betwixt Spritey and Halifax and his mate and pups. "I... I see you've... met Alte," He greeted between breaths, ears going back in dismay. Alte blinked resignedly and looked to Thanh. "Who are they...?" She murmured, quietly, slight fright in her voice. Roux knew in all likelihood he'd been gladly forgotten. But he had to return; after the great final battle that had raged upon the clifftop miles and miles from his birthlands, Roux had resigned to return. It had taken him all of half a year to do so, but he entered, and had been resident in the Water pack undetected for some amount of time. So the surprise discovery of Mirai, Joukai and Tsuka was certainly ill-recieved amid Roux. The volatile third-son of Halifax and Celtic Sprite came suddenly upon the trio of his brother, sister and nephew, and was startled. The young brute lifted his dark lip and released a fierce growl, before continuing on his way. The eyes that had been so blue in childhood were now the fierce gold of his father; the pale blond of his fur previous had darkened to a rich auburn-red in hue. He was larger than his father, twice as muscular and twenty times as arrogant and proud.

Halifax yawned, stretching, awaking from the gladly-taken sleep he'd drifted into at he and his mate's parting. Another thing he despised about being held in a prison was sleep deprivation. His weight, though nowhere near healthy, was more than it had been when he'd stumbled in, weak and hungry. His coat was infinitely more shiny and he was beginning to resemble himself again; the hard, shining eyes were restored almost to their full glory, and he prayed he was slowly earning the love and respect of the pups he'd fathered it seemed ages ago.
