"Aieee!" Ani shrieked happily, tickled and pained at the same time. "Leggo, leggo!" She tugged her head from him, trying to yank her ear free, shaking her head wildly. "C'mon, Mirai!" Halifax's own tears fell down his face, streaming, creating rivets in his cheeks. "Thanh, I'm sorry... I couldn't protect him... I couldn't..." He bit back a sob, his pride not letting him cry anymore. Hali swallowed his tears, looked to the pale young brute... Thanh backed away, pulling from his grandmother's embrace, shaking his head, shutting his eyes. "No, no... not..." He sobbed, not able to hide it like his grandfather. He turned, fled. Thanh didn't care where he was going, nothing mattered anymore... He didn't want this! He knew the pack wouldn't survive if a challenger came, but he cared about nothing but his sorrow. He'd return some time... later... Hali bit his lip, turning to Spritey, the glazed-gaze of Manasseh's blind, dead eyes staring at him... He buried his head in her ruff, tears falling down his cheeks. "Gods, I'm such a horrible parent... Manasseh looked to me, for protection, I couldn't keep him safe..." He sobbed aloud now, softly, his breath parting Spritey's pale, beautiful fur. Nathaniel snorted, trying to restrain laughs at the pup's speech. "What's a matter, pup?" She cocked her head, her eyes kind.
