As Kashann arrived, the collie consciously changed his posture again, standing at ease in a relaxed and neutral position, not dominant nor submissive. It seemed the best way to go. This was Katannah's meeting, not his, and also, the pose was nothing like Lestat's usual extravagant behavior.

He did, for the sake of respect, dip his head in something between a nod and a bow, but he said not a word.
