Hades was good at what she did long before earning the Lead Guard position. Her acute sense of hearing and smell made it naturally easy to know when someone was about, that and the fact that she was always on the move. And ever since Jamila's death, the wolfess had taken up greeting newcomers to lighten Kashann's load. Well now she didn't have to worry about that, seeing as it was her duty.
Stading on the grassy meza that hung above the large expances of sandy beach encircling the island, the black wolf made her patrol. Crimson eyes glanced about as her lean body jogged on red paws. A soft sound interrupted the normal nightly chorus of crickets and the fem froze, ears twitching at different angles to pick out the direction the sound came from. Once the sound became more defined, Hades followed its barings. As she came closer, she noticed it was a voice.. Two actually.
Reaching the high edge of the plateau on the southern border, Hades surveyed the two forms on the beach below. Her silhouette blended nicely with the starry backdrop, just a blot of black on the black velvet sky. The wolfess started down the steep embankment, sliding sideways skillfully in the shadows of the high tableland above. Her paws made almost no noise in the sand as she approached, halting ten or so yards from the pair.
"May I help you?" Hades asked in her youthful voice, crimson eyes landing on the slightly taller fem. She smelled of Kashann.. and seawater. Point was, she was more family. Only days before Jadden had shown up on shore claiming to be reformed and wanting asylum at Water... Now she was having her doubts with the mysterious arrival of what was undoubtedly her alpha's sister. In fact, if it hadn't been for the slight difference in signature scent, she might have mistaken the wolfess for Kashann in the darkness.
