As he trotted away his nose searched for the scent of his small kill that was left from a few hours before he had met Kierra. It took some time before he found the scent then zigzagged around to find the spot only meters away from a small baby tree. He began scratching and pawing at the frozen earth, ground still slightly soft from the first time he had dug there then unearthed a large rabbit.
Arifel shook the carcass of dirt then happily trotted back to the den and set the rabbit just inside the entrance before laying on top of the rock in the snow, blending in perfectly with the surroundings, he felt at peace with himself.
