Posted by Niwah on August 8, 2006, 6:43 pm The unbearable hunger that had come with the passing shadows of dragons began to sting the small wolf's stomache; although her own prey consisted of the smaller species, the dragons had been rather thorough with their cleaning the earth of anything that might fill up a wolf's stomache. The lingering wish that she had been born an herbivore came several times, although she supposed there couldn't possibly be anything better than being a wolf. Well, not in these days. She peered up at the shadowy sky, feeling rather alone and enclosed in the darkness, and longer for a lighter space to stay. Padding towards the border, she placed her gaze over the water that absorbed and reflected light, appearing somewhat a brighter surface than the rest of the packlands. She sat on her haunches, crouching lightly and peering closely at the surface in hope of fish. Tiny slivers represented these, yet none of the larger species aided her. She snapped at the water, taking a few of the tiny fish before drinking her fill to place at least some bit of weight in her stomach. She gazed across the water, wondering dazedly what was occuring beyond the liquid facade, in the small distance, and how was Frollo and his kin doing? It had been such a while since she had seen the wolf...had he become even more powerful? Was he stronger than before? Who had he challenged and who had he met? Or perhaps these things didn't truly concern her, as what type of friend was he to her? Perhaps he didn't care much for her after all. She reflected upon their first meeting, and couldn't help smiling; but it wasn't very funny. Either way, he'd want her help, and she didn't quite understand what help she could offer. He knew well she was small, but perhaps he didn't know how much she hated to fight, even if at times she did have a small miniscule of darkness within her if she was truly hurt, not physically, but internally. All in all, she had no reason to pledge and promise she would be forever of assistance to the wolf, save for having no other matters to be involved with. She herself had no mate nor kin, and didn't much plan on that either. Runts were more prone to have stillborn and pups that wouldn't survive, especially with the dragons about. The thought caused her to gaze uncomfortably at the sky again, wishing momentarily she had a deep, small cave to burrow into and hide in until the danger passed.

Niwah had taken a small excursion to Wind Gale Pack, although hadn't stayed long for a not-so-kind greeting from Frollo. Still, she lingered in Water Pack, not seeing many about, but loving this land as her home. She'd stay here until Frollo told her otherwise.
