Posted by Celtic Sprite et All on 1/3/2005, 6:44 pm, in reply to "..Frost Bitten.." Her gaze returned now to the present, to the life that was both wonderful and tumultuous. It never settled down around here, she thought wryly, donning a puppish grin. She watched her mate pluck up the Daring babe, half expecting Lulu to launch herself at her grandfather and take the initiative once more. Chuckling at her own prejudices, Spritey waited patiently whilst the litter was gathered up by two generations of parents. Thanh seemed to be having the most trouble with his son, the little ball of spitfire living up to his name: Spritey was absolutely captivated by his spirit and determination, and he reminded her greatly of an equally-obstinate pup from one of her and Hali’s previous broods. Kili was a darling little angel, sure to steal the hearts of everyone around her. She need only smile a little more sweetly and she would immediately wrap both Halifax and Thanh right around her little toe. Alte would be beating off her daughter’s suitors before Kili was even Of Age. The granddam’s eyes widened slightly at her mate’s actions, worry clear in their emerald depths. But Alte’s reassuring glance quelled any gentle scolding Spritey might bestow upon Halifax, and so she simply rolled her eyes and flicked her tail over his nose. “Imp,” she muttered, barely audible and with a smirk adorning her muzzle. Then, turning, she led the way toward their family den. Mirai scoffed at Roux’s demanding question, his blind eyes shifting to and fro between the trees. “Isn’t it I who should be asking that of you?” he rumbled, fangs flashing with every word. “The way I see it, you’re the one intruding upon MY family’s lands! You’ve no business being here unless Thanh, son of Manasseh d’Halifax, grants you permission...and I’ve detected none of his scent on your sorry hide, Etoranze!” In spite of the effort Roux put forth to hide his injury, Mirai still managed to pick up on the most subtle tone of it. His lips pulled into a ruthless grin. This one had pride that was easily wounded. Ani’s reply was faint upon the wind, and a flexing of the ear was his response – all attention now focused on the intruder.

Spritey felt her lips quirk into a smile at Halifax's returned gesture, her heart still warmly beating for him. How long ago had it been since she'd come across this unique brute? It seemed an eternity from when she had first stumbled over him, timidly traveling in the lands she'd never thought to enter. Fond memories returned of frolicking and playing next to a river, and plummeting into an emotion so filled with adoration and respect that 'love' was the only word worthy of describing it...despite its monosyllabic state. And to think, she was still as much in love with him as she had been way back then. Soulmates really did exist...and he was most certainly hers.
